For the past two nights, my brother has been introducing me to La Blogotetheque. I've been so excited about it, but I'm just now taking the opportunity to share. I know that two nights might not seem like a long time to hold on to information, but when it's something this good... it kinda is. I love the concept. The images and sounds translate beautifully. Themes of accessibility, spontaneity, shared expression in art and music, and the blurring of the line where art ends and life begin (and vice versa) , are poignantly felt in each fantastically youtube (as an adj.) video. Read the music blog, La Blogotetheque, to learn about the interests and inspirations of the producers, as well as how all of these "take away shows" are coordinated. (it's in French, so just do the best you can) Essentially, they are out to change two things 1) the way music is transmitted through media and 2) the way music is captured in film.

p.s. my brother is the bomb, in case i have any readers who have not already had first-hand experience of this truth.

I have been love loving this song since my brother kindly added it to my iTunes last month and out of my desire to share with you, I discovered the beautiful music video on youtube.
How about that shooting location? What a space! What light! It's gorgeous.
In admiration, I looked at photography director's, Mattias Montero's, website and learned that he actually directed this video for Bat for Lashes, which, as it happens, I fell in love with right around this same time last year. So, might I recommend watching a few of his music videos to find what other delights his eye is responsible for.

While you are out and about, listen to some other Black Cab Sessions. Black Cab Sessions is a series of one-song performances by musicians and poets recorded in the back of a black cab and filmed for an internet audience. It's a fabulous concept. I'm wild about it.

Scent! I've developed a olfactory curiosity. Since watching the film Perfume: The Story of a Murderer back in December, I've had an off and on flirtation with perfume blogs and review sites such as Now Smell This, Smellin' Things, and Lucky Scent (Lucky Scent has an exciting sample program that I can't wait to try out.) This is exactly how I discovered the perfume pictured above. Classified as a leather, In the library by CB i hate perfume makes me smell like an old, mossy tree, which I love. But for those who might have more traditional leanings, may I recommend Kelly Caleche by Hermes, which is a floral leather and a much softer approach (I like to layer it with In the Library). My next addition will likely be Mr. Hulot's Holiday another product from CB i hate perfume.

That's my favorite thing to say on nearly any occasion that someone walks into a room, regardless of the person's actual appearance. If I were in a sit-com, it might be one of my catch phrases. Luckily, most of you are not subjected to this tiring practice.
