I decided a couple of months ago to paint my mother's bedroom pink. When I mention to someone this particular to-do item on my endless home to-do list I always always get a funny look. It would seem that pink has gone a gotten itself a bad rap.
Then, to assuage their fears, I add that it would be what I like to call "creepy baby pink" which, obviously, prompts yet another "are you crazy?" kinda look. At this point I usually either throw out a pacifying word like salmon or, depending on who I'm speaking to, reference this movie in which there is a delightfully creepy pink bedroom. (if you've seen the movie, you will surely know what I am talking about and if you haven't, you should.)
So, today when I happened over to domino in search of something to feed my hungry hungry blog and saw all these beautiful rooms being featured in a gallery about paint color I couldn't help but want to share a few pink ones in hopes of bringing someone over to my side.
The "creepy baby pink" side.

Swayed yet? ... No? Well, perhaps this can close my case.

I have a new addiction.

I love it! One of the comments I recieved was a warning about addiction. It's too late. I'm in way too deep.
Here was my first palette

Blue Grey Monday + Happy Holiday!
There is no post for this.
I just creamed over it and couldn't not share it right away.
I'll hold off on a full post on toy cameras when we're in the thick of Atlanta Celebrates Photography.

X-mas Mix Tapes for Everyone!

It's the end of August - time to start my holiday shopping...
Can I call them miX-mas tapes? No? Yeah, that's retarded.
I am actually making a mix tape to send to a friend far away.
I kinda love these sleeves on etsy. Nothing to go crazy about, but if you are going to go crazy spending hours perfecting a mix-tape, you might as deliver it in style.

My far away friend is also getting a hand-made postcard. Ingredients: blank watercolor postcard, wheat paste, embroidery thread, and this...
I'll post a picture of the end product, and hopefully promises will lead me out of procrastination.

MIXT, an art show revolving around the mixtape, features over 25 artists, including my dear friend Margaret Wright opened and auctioned itself off last weekend at the MINT gallery.

Rehab (Can't Help Myself) is my fave. I'm a sucker for motown.
an end note on mixtapes, thanks to Germon over at thoughtmarker
"The making of a great compilation tape, like breaking up, is hard to do and takes ages longer than it might seem. You gotta kick off with a killer, to grab attention. Then you got to take it up a notch, but you don't wanna blow your wad, so then you got to cool it off a notch. There are a lot of rules." -Rob, High Fidelity
